KATERINA NAKOU

MADE IN ATHENS

Katerina Nakou is an internationally awarded artist and textile designer, with her work focusing on the intersections of traditional textile techniques, digital technology, and contemporary art. She studied Textile Design at the Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences in Germany and later completed several specializations at various institutes across Europe in the fields of weaving and modern carpet-making using the Tufting technique. Her works have been exhibited in museums and institutes in Greece, Germany, and Korea. Since 2023, after a decade of studying and working abroad, she has been creating her works at her studio in Athens, focusing on research, design, and the realization of textile art pieces and handmade products in collaboration with other artists, designers, and fashion companies. At the same time, with the aim of promoting textile art as a dynamic and highly creative field, she offers specialized workshops where participants can explore a wide range of weaving techniques on a loom and the Tufting carpet-making technique, experiment, and create their own personal works.
