The construction of the mansion, hosting today the Estia of N.Smyrni, begun in 1939. Dealing with several problems, the building was completed in 1975, thanks to the non-profitable work of well-known architects and civil engineers of the time. Nowadays, the building remains a great symbol of the refugee crisis during the Catastrophe of Smyrna.
