MADE IN KALAMATA
In 1962, Panagiotis Goumas, a visionary farmer from picturesque Kalamata, Greece, started a small business to promote not only his own crops but also those of his neighbors, in Athens and other parts of Greece. As the 1970s progressed, he expanded into Europe, distinguishing himself as one of the first “outward-looking” Greek entrepreneurs.
Over the past fifteen years, the second generation, George and Eftychia Goumas, have expanded the company by exporting widely recognized products, such as the “Kalamata” PDO extra virgin olive oil, to the USA, Canada, and Asia. Consequently, Agrexpo has achieved a leading position with awards. In 2023, it won the gold award at the ATHENA International Olive Oil Competition, and in 2024, the silver. The monovarietal KALAMATA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) is exported from the fruits of the Koroneiki variety, cultivated in the olive groves of Messinia.
